This Is Not a Foam Beam. Low profile folding balance beam and mat combo. It is 8 ft. long when unfolded with a padded top and is covered with a heavy grade synthetic suede material for the look and feel of a regulation beam. It weighs approximately 15 lbs. giving it the weight of foam and the durability of real wood construction. It has attached handles that tuck underneath when in use. The work surface is 4 in. wide and has sloping sides. It is 6 in. wide at the bottom and is 3 in. high. The hinge mechanism is made of steel. This will make a great practice beam. The mat is a 4' x 8' x 1 3/8" Folding Gym Mat. The mat is made up of two sections that Velcro together underneath the beam. The beam fits inside of the open space between the two sections. This gives your child the protection of having matting all the way along the sides of the beam. The mat meets the sides of the beam that begin to angle down. When the mat is not being used for the beam it can be used as a standard folding gym mat. The two sides of the mat can be velcroed flush to one another.
