Please note that beam will not fold after middle leg is installed, you must remove the 8160 carbon steel middle leg brace (12 screws) if you wish to fold the beam for storage; Although inconvenient, it is a testament to our commitment to safety, function, and style. It was designed this way because the middle leg must re-enforce the folding hinge section to ensure a robust balance beam that can take punishment and remain rock steady for life. With Joom Beem's kevlar induced composite material, the beam can support over 500lbs, that's twice the weight of most competition. The only 8' full size balance beam on the market that can be folded up for storage and transportation, but maintains 100% of it's structural integrity due to a patented stainless hinge system with extra brace for the middle. You don't need support in the center with Joom Beem's 8ft trainer, and it comes with two optional legs for low profile training. We use Polyethelene padding, and curved sides, equivalent to competition rated beams in so that it will look, and feel just like a competition rated beams that you can practice on at home for a fraction of the price. We cover our beams with a thick and robust suede for palpable quality and tactile feedback exactly as it would be on a competition rated beam.
